An established local brand has brought its caffeine concoctions and breakfast-focused eats to one of the newest high-rises of a Downtown neighborhood that should be poised for an infusion of activity in the coming months.

Lackawanna Coffee has opened its latest 1,343-square-foot outpost inside The Lively at 325 Warren Street. The company, founded in 2014, announced the move over two years ago as the 18-story development from Lennar was rising along the block.

The result of that construction is a ground-floor storefront boasting large floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for great natural light. Lackawanna Coffee’s latest location is currently offering outdoor seating (weather permitting) and follows its other outposts along Bay Street and Grove Street.

The shop’s coffee menu includes both standards and harder to find creations like a Turkish latte or a wildflower honey latte. Sweeter options include a dulce de leche latte and Lackawanna Coffee uses milk from New York’s Battenkill Valley Creamery in addition to offering alternatives like almond or macadamia nut milk.

Baked goods at the café consist of options like croissants, a cheddar chive biscuit, golden monkey bread, or an English pecan sticky bun. Other highlights include a blood orange cheese danish, vanilla creme donuts, and a few vegan muffin options like banana walnut or wild blueberry.

Lackawanna Coffee’s latest shop is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is serving a growing community that will expand in the coming months. There are over 1,400 apartments under construction just a few blocks away and a 14,200-square-foot large-scale theater inside The Lively to be operated by Nimbus Dance Works will be looking to ramp up activities as COVID-19 (hopefully) starts to fade into memory.
