A Barnegat-based developer has opened a lottery for affordable housing apartments at its new 66-unit Kingsway Estates I project in Woolwich, Gloucester County.

Prospective tenants who meet income restrictions can apply through November 6. The drawing will be held November 12.

Developer Walters, which specializes in affordable family and senior housing, partnered with owner Fair Share Housing Development of Mount Laurel on the project. Kingsway Estates I is scheduled to be completed by next February.

Kingsway Estates II is scheduled for completion by next March.

Apartments are one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, according to Walters, who is building and will manage the complex.

Amenities include full-sized washers and dryers and kitchens with granite countertops.

“Community highlights include a multipurpose clubhouse with a state-of-the-art fitness center, children’s playground, basketball court, computer workstation and on-site parking,” according to Walters.

Admission is limited to applicants whose incomes are at or below 60% of the area median income. Rent is based on the renter’s gross annual income. Separate applications will be required for phase one and phase two of the complex.

“We are pleased to partner with Fair Share Housing Development to introduce this new community of high-quality, well-designed homes, which complement the surrounding neighborhood and will give residents access to a variety of everyday amenities,” Joe Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters, said in a statement.
