Hue Soul has officially opened at 431 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in East Orange. The city has seen an upswing in development and the latest Tay Investments property is another positive landmark for the revitalized city. The new development offers spacious, open-concept units with modern design and a generous list of amenities.

The 116-unit rental development has been in the works for more than five years. Construction finished earlier this year and began leasing last spring under a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO). With more than 20% of the units already leased, the East Orange property has garnered strong interest among prospective residents. The developer, Tay Investments, has secured a $32 million bridge-to-stabilization loan from lending partner, BHI. The funds will give the Tay team flexibility as it executes leasing and retail plans.
“We’re incredibly proud to bring Hue Soul to life,” commented Yuval Shram, Founder of Tay Investments. “East Orange is a vibrant and evolving community, and we’re excited to contribute to its future with a space that reflects creativity, design, and community spirit.”

Hue Soul comprises a mix of studio, one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, and two-bedroom units from 600 to 1,300 square feet. Some residences offer private terraces. The apartments feature open floor plans and oversized windows. The kitchens come with stainless-steel appliances, and all apartments have in-unit washers and dryers.

Residents can enjoy a wide array of amenities, including a lobby lounge, private screening room, hidden speakeasy, co-working space, and lush courtyard with outdoor kitchen, firepit, and plenty of seating. The fitness center offers wet and dry saunas, a dedicated yoga room and cold plunge pool. Electric vehicle owners can take advantage of the car charging station.
Just minutes from Brick Church station and NJ Transit trains, Hue Soul is also is close to restaurants, retail and services, plus it offers easy access to Interstate 280 and the Garden State Parkway.
