The company that owns a group of five adjacent narrow properties on Communipaw Avenue is expected to go before the Jersey City Zoning Board of Adjustment this week as part of a redevelopment effort.

Sunsky, LLC is planning a new building at 668, 670, 672, 674, and 676 Communipaw Avenue, a 5,263-square-foot site located between Bergen Avenue and John F. Kennedy Boulevard. The proposal calls for tearing down an existing garage on the premises and constructing a structure with 19 units and 10 parking spaces, according to a legal notice. The development would be 58 feet tall and include five stories.

State business filings show that Sunsky, LLC was incorporated in 2014 out of Secaucus, though not much else is known about the property owner and developer. The company’s application is scheduled to be heard this Thursday, February 20, at 6:30 p.m. Preliminary and Final Site Plan approval and variances for use, height, lot size, width, and depth are all being sought.

Note to readers: The dates that applications are scheduled to be heard by the Jersey City Zoning Board of Adjustment and other commissions are subject to change.
