The surprisingly light bagel scene in Jersey City just got a huge boost as a new shop called B Bagels is now open for business on a prominent Downtown corner.
Situated at 367 Grove Street, the shop soft opened on January 15, just in time for National Bagel Day. The business, owned by two brothers who introduced themselves to the community via an Instagram post last year, launches after a complete interior overhaul of the space that previously housed by a dry cleaner.
B Bagels had been honing their craft via delivery-only services out of a Newark Street space in Hoboken in advance of their launch. Their bagels have been a big hit early, as the shop officially sold out over their first two days.
The shop offers coffee and latte drinks plus a variety of breakfast drinks along with a solid variety of bagels, including options like Black Russian, jalapeno, French toast, and gluten free. Spreads available for the bagels include lox, olive pimento, veggie tofu, or a cinnamon walnut raisin.
No bagel shop would be complete without breakfast sandwiches, and B Bagel sports some interesting selections. Their “Jersey Stack” includes 10 slices of Taylor ham (yes, that’s what it’s called), plus white American cheese, while their Vegwhich blends cream cheese, avocado, tomato, red onion and cucumber.
B Bagel also has several omelet varieties along with salads and wraps and a signature sandwiches series. An El Jefe sandwich combines grilled chicken, cheddar, bacon, and chipotle mayo, while other offers include a cheesesteak, Downtown Cuban, or a smashed burger.
B Bagel can be followed on Instagram at the handle @bbagels_jc as their full opening continues in the coming days.
