One of the most anticipated new eateries along the Hudson River is officially open for business as the high-minded Faubourg has launched their second location along the Weehawken waterfront.
Jersey Digs reported earlier this year about the restaurant’s plans at River House 11 at 1100 Avenue at Port Imperial, a space that was formerly occupied by Porter. The first outpost of Faubourg launched on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair back in 2019 inside a former bank property.
Conceived by Daniel Boulud alums Olivier Muller and Dominique Paulin, Faubourg offers a seasonally rotating menu and is named after suburban areas that formed around Paris. Popular dishes the restaurant is known for include their tarte flambée with fromage blanc and bacon and ricotta ravioli and corn with zucchini, fava beans, basil and pecorino.
Other highlights include spins of French classics like coq au vin and ratatouille, while the dessert menu sports options like a tahitian vanilla crème brulée served with rhubarb compote or a flambéed Grand Marnier. The restaurant additionally boasts a full wine, beer, and cocktail program.
Faubourg’s new 5,000-square-foot Weehawken location was designed by architect and designer Craig Shillito of Cycle Projects and consists of four connected spaces that flow into each other. The restaurant’s nooks include a grand bar with a dining area, an open kitchen and main dining room, a cocktail lounge, and a private dining room.
The floor-to-ceiling design of the space allows for great natural light with accents of burnt orange and cool woods. Faubourg’s hours for the Weehawken location span from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, with an extra hour of service until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.
The restaurant has promised to roll out lunch and brunch service as they get up and running in the coming months. Faubourg can be followed on Instagram at their Weehawken-specific account at the handle @faubourgweehawken.
