Angry Archie’s have launched their first brick-and-mortar in Jersey City’s northernmost neighborhood. The seafood truck that has been a mainstay at markets throughout Hudson County over the years has now found a permanent home

Jersey Digs reported last summer about the impending arrival of Angry Archie’s to The Heights. The mobile culinary adventure began seven years ago as the vision of co-founder and chef Chris Curado, who previously worked under the executive chef at Morristown’s Copeland restaurant.

After working at various restaurants in Italy for a year, his return to the states led him to a Chef De Cuisine position at Chakra in Paramus followed by an Executive Chef gig at Park Ridge’s Esty Street. Curado then teamed up with his cousin Michael Ponte to launch the Angry Archie’s food truck in 2015 and an outpost in District Kitchen soon followed.

Angry Archie’s latest endeavor at 565 Palisade Avenue opened last month. The company’s initial restaurant, which offers some casual seating for those dining in, features a menu that includes their famous “angry” lobster rolls and crab poutine with sriracha aioli.

Their signature crab cake, perhaps their best item, combines jumbo lump crab meat, crispy potatoes, a spicy aioli, and citrus crema on a toasted potato bun.

Delivery service will be coming soon at Angry Archie’s restaurant, which is closed on Mondays but open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, serving an extra hour until 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Fans of mobile cuisine should fret not over Angry Archie’s brick-and-mortar opening. The company is still operating their food truck throughout the tri-state area and regularly posts their upcoming locations on their Instagram handle @angry_archies.
