Second Street is just got a little healthier with today’s ceremonial opening of juice basin, which, along with its next-door neighbor, Black House Strength and Conditioning, bring new wellness options to the area. Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop will be on hand later today to cut the ribbon on the Asbury Park-based juicery’s third location.
In honor of its flagship JC location, juice basin has developed a specialty green juice called Liberty Lite, made of hand-pressed turmeric, cucumber, celery, parsley, and lemon. Its full line of drinks includes artisan specialty juices, nut mylk meal replacements, and smoothies. juice basin is located at 336 Second Street and is open at 8 am daily.
Right next to juice basin is Black House Strength and Conditioning, a gym by Jason Schroeder of Brazen Athletics, a 20-year veteran of the competitive fitness scene. Programs offered at this gym cover bodybuilding, mobility, and positioning. One-on-one coaching is also available.
“We saw a need in the fitness community to provide an environment that was conducive not only becoming physically stronger, but mentally stronger, creating an atmosphere where human progression is priority,” said Schroeder. “We decided to launch this concept in Jersey City, a community where progression abounds.”
Black House is located at 334 Second Street. For more information or current class schedules, visit www.blackhousestrong.com.
