In an interesting turn of events, Mayor Fulop has decided to buy a home in the Heights neighborhood of Jersey City. This is opposed to putting down roots in the Bergen-Lafayette area where he previously conveyed interest in purchasing. Perhaps the change of heart was politically motivated.

The house is located at 360 Ogden Ave on one of the most desirable blocks in the neighborhood. The exterior has some stunning architectural features, and the deck has incredible views of the Manhattan skyline. Although the kitchen does have high end Viking appliances, I’m not the biggest fan of the kitchen cabinetry or tile work in the bathroom and kitchen. The photos also make it look like the layout is somewhat wonky – I’d like to see a floor plan and figure out exactly how the home is organized.

The house was listed for $739k and according to Zillow was last sold in 2012 for $415k. Fulop is estimated to close in about 2 weeks. Looks like the previous owner made a great investment.
