A high-end condominium complex that has been in the works for years along the Jersey Shore has broken ground after years of planning as LIDO Asbury Park has officially begun construction.

Located at 1201 Ocean Avenue, LIDO Asbury Park comes courtesy Inspired by Somerset Development. The project will include a collection of 112 thoughtfully designed condominium residences that aim to represent the pinnacle of coastal living in one of the state’s most iconic seaside enclaves.

Jersey Digs covered the approval of the project back in 2023, which will be built on a former parking lot next to Wonder Bar. Set to rise eight stories and 130 feet at the tallest point, the project features design from NYC-based Clodagh and architecture from Lambertville-based Minno & Wasko.

“Asbury Park has become one of the most sought-after beachfront destinations in the country, and LIDO is raising the bar for what luxury living looks like here,” said Ralph Zucker, CEO and President of Inspired by Somerset Development. “Breaking ground represents not only a major milestone for LIDO, but also for the continued transformation of Asbury Park as a place where natural beauty, culture, and world-class design meet.”

Besides the residences, LIDO will include 270 parking spaces in an interior garage plus 9,340 square feet of retail space along Ocean Avenue split between two storefronts. The exterior of the building is slated to utilize a mix of textured fiber cement panels, cast stone, metal canopies, and glass components.

Inspired by Somerset says LIDO has seen significant early demand since launching sales in July and has already set a record for the highest-priced condo ever sold in New Jersey. Pricing for LIDO Asbury Park starts at $1,035,000, with select residences priced over $8 million.

“LIDO represents a meaningful moment for Asbury Park as we continue to grow in ways that honor our history while embracing new possibilities,” Asbury Park Mayor John Moor said. “We’re proud to work with Inspired by Somerset Development and are excited to see LIDO bring thoughtful design and year-round vitality to our waterfront.”

Each residence at LIDO will feature featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that frame panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, Asbury Park landmarks, and the bustling boardwalk. Select homes will feature oversized terraces, private plunge pools, and other unique amenities.

Residences will range from one- to four-bedroom homes spanning approximately 970 to more than 3,800 square feet. Each home includes a primary suite designed as a private retreat, with spa-like bathrooms, custom white oak vanities, and radiant heated floors.

Outdoor amenities for future residents of the complex will include a saltwater swimming pool with a sun shelf and infinity edge, private cabanas and loungers, an outdoor shower, and a fully equipped alfresco dining suite with a built-in kitchen. A private park will offer a lush, open-air oasis perfect for casual gatherings, complete with barbecue grills, landscaped pathways, firepits, trellised seating areas, and a sculpture garden.

A dedicated suite of spa-inspired amenities will also be featured at the property including a Turkish hammam and Vichy shower, a treatment room, both an indoor and outdoor sauna, a state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment, and a dedicated studio for yoga, personal training, or quiet meditation.

Other perks at the property will include a library lounge with a fireplace, a parlor room, a social lounge, a coworking suite, a game room, multisport simulator, screening room, pet spa, and children’s playroom.

LIDO Asbury Park is anticipated to be completed sometime in 2027. Sales and marketing for the building are exclusively led by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group.
