Famous for its fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits and sweet iced tea, Bojangles is serving up their Southern favorites at 1000 Stelton Road in Piscataway. This is the first New Jersey location with more restaurants planned for Marlboro, Vineland and Neptune. The company will eventually have ten locations across the state as part of a major push into the Northeast.
The Goldstein Group placed the new restaurant on a 1.23-acre spot formerly occupied by an Exxon station. The team of Lew Finkelstein, Executive Vice President, CJ Huter, Vice President, and Chris Conway spearheaded the transaction. Recently, Goldstein also handled the placement of a Burger King in East Hanover.
“Bojangles is a new restaurant to the New Jersey market,” noted Neil Goldstein, Principal of The Goldstein Group. “There are many chicken concept restaurants seeking sites in New Jersey and throughout the country. This will be one of the first Bojangles locations in Northern/Central New Jersey.”
Bojangles was founded almost 50 years ago. It opened in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1977. Today, there are about 800 locations in 17 states. In 1989, Bojangles was applauded for keeping its doors open while the Carolinas were ravaged by Hurricane Hugo while most other fast-food outlets shut down.
The Piscataway location is close to I-287, Rutgers University, and many restaurants and retailers, including Walmart, Dunkin’, Wendy’s, ShopRite, Target, Lowe’s, Five Guys, Pep Boys, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, and others.
