The Plaza at Harmon Meadow, located just off of Route 3 and Paterson Plank Road in Secaucus, is one of the county’s largest shopping plazas, and is home to businesses like Red Lobster, Pier 1 Imports, Chili’s, Chipotle, a recently-opened BurgerFi, and a post office, in addition to hotels, offices, and a movie theater.

The 217,613 square foot complex was sold in 2015 by Hartz Mountain for $64 million to the Manhattan-based Carlton Group, according to RKF. Now, the new owners have big plans for the property.

According to a listing from Ripco Real Estate and The Dietz Partnership, the “exciting mixed-use, open air, lifestyle retail center” will be renovated, and a new 6,000 square foot restaurant or beer garden is sought for a part of the plaza between Chili’s and the Holiday Inn Secaucus Meadowlands. Few details regarding the renovation have been revealed, but a video and renderings posted in November by Ripco show what a revitalized plaza could look like.

Nearby, other changes are coming. According to Starwood Hotels and Resorts, an Aloft hotel is expected to open at 450 Harmon Meadow Boulevard in 2018, and Habanero Grill and Wine Traders are reportedly planning to open at 101 Plaza Center.
