One of the fastest growing bagel brands in the Big Apple is heading to New Jersey just about a year and a half after their brick-and-mortar launch as Apollo Bagels is now soft open on Hoboken’s main street.

The company is now serving their bagels and more out of a storefront at 324 Washington Street. Apollo Bagels describe themselves as a new-school bagel shop rooted in old-school techniques, becoming known for their naturally fermented, boiled bagels made fresh daily.

The shop started as a pop-up from the Williamsburg-based sourdough-pizza spot Leo back in 2022 and launched their first brick-and-mortar space in the East Village last year. Apollo Bagels currently operates four spots in New York, with their most recent in Williamsburg marking their first journey out of Manhattan.

Their bagels have drawn high praise, an accomplishment notable in what is perhaps planet Earth’s most saturated bagel market. Forbes profiled their salmon and cream cheese bagel earlier this year, declaring it the best in New York City.

Lines have been known to form around the corner at their NYC spots, but their Hoboken outpost had brisk business but remained manageable during a recent visit. Apollo Bagels has not yet launched online ordering for their Hoboken outpost, but it will eventually be available through their website.

The soft open hours for Apollo Bagels currently run from 7 a.m. through 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday but will run later and on weekends as the rollout continues. The company can be followed on Instagram at the handle @apollobagels.

The new bagel shop isn’t the only new business on the block being imported from New York City. Jersey Digs broke the news last month that Brooklyn’s own Tacobee’s is slated to open right next door.
