One of Journal Square’s newest high-rises will soon be home to a large market from the ownership behind several Jersey City grocers.
Overlook Market, along with sister business Overlook Wine & Spirits, have signed a lease to occupy two retail spaces totaling 2,882 square feet inside the Overlook Flats at 32 Oakland Avenue. Developer Milton Fantin and the Fantin Companies announced the deal with the retailers, who are expected to open later this year.
Overlook Market will be the third store its ownership has opened in Jersey City, joining River Mart at 65 Maple Street and Lenox Market at 207 Van Vorst Street. The new Oakland Street market will provide everything from everyday conveniences, candy and organic snacks, to pre-packaged deli meats and much more.
Overlook Wine & Spirits offers a wide selection of premium wines and spirits, as well as domestic and imported beer. Additional food shopping options should be welcome news for fast-growing Journal Square, which welcomed Food Story Natural Market earlier this year.

A third retail space is currently in the process of being leased at Overlook Flats, a project Jersey Digs has been following since 2018.
