A supermarket will soon be returning to a shopping center in Jersey City’s Ward F. 99 Ranch Market is planning to open a location in the Old Colony Square Center at 420 Grand Street, which also is home to DaVita, Advance Auto Parts, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, and Dunkin’ Donuts. According to the 99 Ranch’s Twitter account, the Jersey City market is expected to open its doors at some point this March. It will be located in the space that was previously occupied by a Pathmark Super Center, which was shut down in 2015 when Bergen County-based parent company A&P filed for bankruptcy.

99 Ranch, which describes itself as “a global Asian foods supermarket”, was founded in Orange County, California in 1984, and currently has 42 locations in California, Nevada, Texas, and Washington State. Plus, a 99 Ranch location opened in a former Pathmark in January in Edison, Middlesex County, and another market is in the works for Hackensack, Bergen County. The Jersey City store is currently hiring.

Meanwhile, a new food truck will soon hit the streets of Jersey City. The Kitchen on Wheels food truck will serve hot and cold drinks along with Spanish and American cuisine for breakfast and lunch when it opens, according to the business Twitter account, including sandwiches, gyros, and empanadas.
