A family-owned group of Indian restaurants is opening a full-service restaurant, The Mango People Collective, at The Plaza at Woodbridge in the location of the former TGI Fridays, Urban Edge Properties announced.

The 9,462-square-foot restaurant is part of the Fine Indian Dining Group, which has restaurants in New Jersey and New York City.

“When our dad immigrated to the U.S., he chose New Jersey to build a life for our family,” Ankush and Avineet Punhani, The Mango People Collective co-founders, said in a statement. “Woodbridge is where he was given his first real opportunity, that would go on to shape everything that followed.”

The Plaza on Route 1 is anchored by Best Buy, Raymour & Flanigan, and a newly opened Trader Joe’s and Ross.
