Opening its doors for the first time today in Asbury Park is Modine, located in the historic Post Building at 601 Mattison Avenue. Founding partners Shanti and Steve Mignogna, Chris Davin, Jill Meerpohl, and Andrew Rasizer went for southern charm and modern flair with this new spot.

The newly renovated space is Art Deco-inspired, with the visual direction a collaboration of Modine’s partners and the Brooklyn-based architectural firm Space Exploration. The open and bright interior features gleaming brass accents, luxe green leather, marble pillars and tables, and plenty of greenery. Guests are made to feel as if they are in a southern city such as Charleston because of the charming atmosphere and available fare.

Modine serves up southern cuisine with the freshness of local produce and southern-sourced staple ingredients. Open for dinner and weekend brunch, there will also be a lunch counter and takeout section in the back.
