Former Philadelphia Phillies star Nick Castellanos has parted ways with his 10,000-square-foot home in Moorestown. The MLB star, who is currently playing for the San Diego Padres, sold the 2019 mansion for $4.89 million four years after he purchased it from NBA star Ben Simmons.
A report in the Philadelphia Business Journal says that the sale of the mansion is the priciest home sale in Moorestown in the last decade.

The buyer is a limited liability firm known as Half Dozen LLC, according to a report in Philly Voice. Property records from the Burlington County Clerk’s office show that the LLC’s mailing address is based in El Dorado Hills, California, and that the sale closed on March 26. Naoji Moriuchi, a broker with Compass Real Estate, handled the sale on behalf of Castellanos, the report said, while Melissa Casterioto, a broker with Weichert Realtors, represented the buyer.
The home is located at 9 Miller Court in Moorestown, less than 25 miles from Citizens Bank Park.

It consists of five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms, and sits on 1.78 acres at the end of a private cul-de-sac. The home features an elevator and Savant whole-home automation. An archived listing from Compass said that the home also features multiple en-suite bedrooms, a hotel-caliber primary retreat, and a resort-style lower level. It includes a kitchen with two islands, a breakfast booth, a wine wall, a ventilated lounge area, multiple bars, an aquarium, and three entertainment rooms: a candy room, a gaming room, and a home movie theater.

The home features a double-gated driveway that wraps around to a three-car garage, and a bedroom terrace overlooking the rear yard, which includes a dog run and a children’s play area.
Annual property taxes on the property are approximately $51,000, according to the listing from Compass.
Jersey Digs reported in 2022 that Simmons paid approximately $2.28 million after he signed a $170 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Australian-born point guard listed the home in 2021 after a standoff with the 76ers that led him to request a trade from the team.
