A unique twist on the Wawa experience that will blend in with the vibe of a historic Jersey Shore town is rising smack dab in the middle of Wildwood.
A new Super Wawa is coming to the Wildwoods at 3400 New Jersey Avenue, featuring a neon-style sign and a retro color scheme. The new location will pay tribute to the Wildwoods’ renowned Doo Wop mid-century architectural history.
The new Wawa is set to rise on the street’s corner with Schellenger Avenue and will replace a Rite Aid location, which was demolished late last year. The 6,372-square-foot location will feature stylistic elements inspired by the Wildwoods’ iconic Doo Wop mid-century aesthetic, further reinforcing the resort’s retro theme.
A gas station with five pumps will be included at the upcoming Wawa in Wildwood, which does not yet have an opening date. The location will mark the second Doo Wop-themed Wawa, celebrating the history of the Wildwoods, with the first on Rio Grande Avenue at the entrance to the island.
