A new bourbon and whiskey distillery that offers a craft cocktail program inspired by notable film directors has launched in Ocean County, and Battle Grounds Distilling Co. is officially open for business.
Situated at 13 Washington Street in Downtown Toms River, the business features a premium whiskey-focused experience that is decidedly unique in the area. Battle Grounds Distillery is led by owner Tracy Bacon alongside an all-female ownership team and distills a variety of premium bourbons and rye whiskeys.
Visitors to the distillery can look forward to a plethora of exclusive cask-strength releases alongside a cocktail program that is “culinary inspired. Battle Grounds has already launched what they are calling a Director’s Cut cocktail program, with their first “Tarantino Collection” taking inspiration from the filmmaker’s cannon.
Highlights from the current menu include the Stunt Man Mike, which blends bourbon, strawberry, pink peppercorn, rose water, and lemon, finished with cucumber ice spheres. Other concoctions include the Kill Bill-inspired Black Mamba with vanilla chocolate vodka, coconut cold brew and an instant coffee whip.
Battle Grounds serves hard alcohol only and is a 21+ affair, meaning no kids or dogs. They are open Thursday through Sunday, starting at 5 p.m. on Thursdays and 4 p.m. on Fridays, with an 11:30 a.m. opening on weekends. They can be followed on Instagram at the handle @bg_distilling.
