Celebrity sightings on the streets of Jersey City and Hoboken have become increasingly common. The most recent big name popping up on Instagram feeds and local news sites is actor Jeremy Allen White. He’s been spotted many times on the streets of Hoboken and Bayonne while filming scenes for the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. Despite his image as a brooding, intense actor, the star has posed for pictures with fans and visited many local businesses.
Deliver Me From Nowhere stars White as the legendary Bruce Springsteen. The film focuses on the turbulent time leading up to the Boss’s seminal 1982 album, Nebraska. Springsteen has been on set multiple times as the production has taken over the streets of Bayonne. Gawkers have spotted Mr. White shooting several scenes, including ones kissing co-star Odessa Young and driving a vintage Z-28 Chevy Camaro. TMZ captured an exclusive video.
Scott Cooper directed the film, which is scheduled for a 2025 release. The cast also features Succession star Jeremy Strong, David Krumholtz, Gaby Hoffman, Paul Walter Hauser, Mike Batlan, Johnny Cannizzaro as Steven Van Zandt, Jersey City native Marc Maron, and Harrison Sloan Gilbertson. This month, the production will head to Asbury Park for concert scenes.
Brooklyn-born White made his name in the comedy-drama Shameless, but the 33-year-old actor shot to the A-list with his lead role in The Bear. He’s won awards, including Emmys, Golden Globes and more. His personal life has become tabloid fodder, and he is in demand as an actor.
One thing we know for sure. Jeremy Allen White loves his coffee. The Hoboken Girl has been tracking his coffee cravings and spotted him at Mojo, Hidden Grounds, bwé kafe and even Dunkin’. It’s unclear what caffeinated beverage is his favorite, but the star is making the rounds in Hoboken.
New Jersey is no stranger to big theatrical productions. Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni had local social feeds going wild when they shot It Ends With Us on Hoboken’s Bloomfield Street and the Newport Waterfront. Timothee Chalamet was all over Jersey City and Hoboken for the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. More recently, Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller popped up in Kearny while shooting Happy Gilmore 2. The sequel has been shooting all over New Jersey, with stops in Bedminster, Morristown, Montclair, Hackettstown, and more.
Next time you’re out on the streets in Hudson County, keep your eyes peeled and your camera ready. You never know what famous face will be prowling around town.
