Jersey City’s brand new waterfront beer garden, Lutze Biergarten, celebrates its grand opening today with a massive party featuring food, drinks, live music, games, over 100 vendors, and a fireworks display, by world famous Grucci, on the Hudson River.
The party runs from 5pm-midnight and is both child and dog-friendly. Located at 15 Second Sreet, in a park along the Hudson River, the beer garden brings open-air entertainment to the waterfront. Enjoy the beautiful spring weather while taking in breathtaking views of Manhattan. Lutze has even commissioned Jersey City’s own craft brewer, Departed Soles, to create Lutze Amber Ale.
It’s inspired by Jersey City’s history of welcoming immigrants, and America’s promise as a rich tapestry of their culture. It’s named for Wilhelm Lutze, a child of German immigrants who was born here in 1900 and spent his whole life in Jersey City. In his spirit, the beer garden will donate a portion of its profits to local charities.
