Located at the former home of Mancinni’s Coal Oven Pizza, a new restaurant has opened that also serves pizza. Grindage Wood Fired Pizza & Sandwiches, now open in downtown Montclair, offers a variety of original pizzas, seasonal salads, and savory sandwiches.
“We are so excited to join the thriving dining culture in Montclair,” said Lee Mangravito, co-owner of Grindage Wood Fired Pizza & Sandwiches and a resident of West Orange, New Jersey. “We’re keeping the most popular elements of the Mancinni’s menu, along with its chef, Joe Profita, and adding new pizzas, sandwiches and salads we think the community will love.”
“Whether you are in the mood for traditional wood-fired pizza, a quick lunch, or a late-night slice with friends, Grindage provides an experience that will be enjoyed by all,” added Jarrett Bennett, co-chef and co-owner at the restaurant. Bennett is a Cedar Grove, New Jersey, resident who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 2000.
The restaurant is co-owned by Mangravito and Bennett. Profita, formerly of Mancinni’s, serves as the head chef. They said they will be partnering with other businesses and restaurants in Montclair, as well as collaborating on monthly menu specials and sourcing local ingredients.
“We are very excited to welcome this new, late-night pizza spot to our community,” said Montclair Mayor Robert Jackson in a released statement. “Its location along Bloomfield Avenue and delicious menu will make it a destination for pizza lovers visiting and living in Montclair.”
The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and for both dine-in and take-out. Late night options and delivery are also available.
Grindage is located at 438 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, New Jersey.
