One of the biggest names in convenience is adding a new store to the Mile Square City as 7-Eleven is opening a second Hoboken location.
Construction quietly began several weeks ago at the Speedway gas station at 1401 Willow Avenue. The facility is temporarily closed for construction work, and signage has been posted indicating that the brand is coming to the location.
The website for 7-Eleven confirms the location along Willow Avenue and says their hours will run from 6 a.m. until midnight daily.
The 7-Eleven will be the company’s second Hoboken location following a Washington Street outpost when it is up and running. A timeline for the potential opening of the store isn’t available.
Hoboken’s northern end has a tremendous amount of construction activity, with a mixed-use development at 1404 Willow Avenue going up just across the street. Other major projects in the neighborhood include a 382-unit development at 1500 Clinton Street, just a block away, and Harborside Park just east on Park Avenue.
