This weekend, the West Hudson Arts and Theater Company will present a live stage adaptation of the 1983 classic holiday film, A Christmas Story.

Performances will be held on Friday night at 7:30pm, and on Saturday at 2pm and 7pm. The Friday show is already sold out.

The holiday production will take the stage at The First Lutheran Church, 65 Oakwood Ave in Kearny, New Jersey.

A Christmas Story follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker who only wants one thing for Christmas: a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air fire BB gun. But everyone always tells him the same thing: “You’ll shoot your eyes out!”

The film has become such a beloved holiday classic that Turner Broadcasting airs a marathon of the film titled “24 Hours of A Christmas Story” every year.

General admission tickets are $12 and available at www.whatco.org or by calling 201-467-8624. Seniors and students can get discounted tickets for $10.

The West Hudson Arts and Theater Company is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the cultural life of the New Jersey Community. They focus on contributing to the economic vitality of the greater Newark area, along with developing and educating young performers from the community.
