The Duchess is now leasing luxe studio, one, two, and three bedroom apartments in North Bergen. At 7601 River Road along New Jersey’s Gold Coast, the three towers of the development designed by Hoboken-based Vijay Kale Architects, PC, offer Hudson River and New York City views plus an easy commute to Manhattan.
The Duchess is the first project in New Jersey for Philadelphia-based developer Post Brothers and features 320 rentals with condominium-level finishes and amenities. “We like to call the residences at The Duchess ‘grown-up homes’ because the entire development is designed to meet the needs of those who rent by choice,” said Michael Pestronik, CEO and co-founder of Post Brothers.
The apartments are spacious, and each residence has floor-to-ceiling windows, European oak hardwood flooring, an Electrolux washer and dryer, and large closets with built-ins. Two finish packages are available for the kitchen as well as quartz countertops and high-end appliances. Bathrooms are clad in travertine tile and have large walk-in showers.
The amenity spaces and common areas were designed by Paris Forino and offer residents a hotel-like experience. The Water Terrace features a pool, hot tub, and cabanas while The Veranda offers a yoga deck, sand box, plenty of seating, and a fire pit. The Rooftop not only has a terrace with spectacular City views but a lounge, grilling stations, co-working space, conference center, and a children’s playroom/art studio. And The Wellness Center has state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a cycling studio with instructor-led classes, a spa with sauna/steam rooms, and a juice bar.
The Duchess will also offer shuttle service to the New York Waterway Ferry and easy access to buses to Port Authority Bus Terminal. Prices range from around $2,400 for a low floor studio to over $8,000 for a high floor three bedroom.
