A market and restaurant concept known for their authentic Italian specialties will finally be coming to New Jersey as Eataly has begun construction on their Short Hills outpost.
The company, which was founded in Turin, Italy back in 2007, has announced that they will be opening in The Mall at Short Hills inside space previously occupied by Primo Mercato.
The expansion marks not only their first New Jersey outpost but also their first true suburban one, as their other locations are in Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas, Las Vegas, New York City, Istanbul, and California’s Silicon Valley.
Eataly’s New Jersey store will feature various restaurants and cafes, a pasta bar, a meat and cheese counter, a pizzeria counter, and a gelato shop. Italian groceries and household items will also be available for purchase.
The latest Eataly location also appears to be likely holding classes and events related to Italian cooking and culture. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the company has already begun construction at the site and hopes to open by the end of the year.
