A void in the Hoboken fresh food scene is slated to be filled next year with the impending arrival of a proper seafood market from familiar faces.
A business called Angelo Seafood Market recently put signage up in the windows at 626 Washington Street. The endeavor comes from the ownership behind Stingray Lounge, a raw bar and cocktail spot near Washington Street’s northern end that burst on the scene in 2014 while garnering stellar Yelp! reviews ever since.
Angelo Seafood Market promises fillets, whole fish, mussels, clams, shrimp, crabs, and specialty seafood at their future shop. Prepared foods and lobster rolls are also in the cards for the business, who recently launched an Instagram account at the handle @angeloseafoodmarket.
The development is certainly welcome news to seafood fans in the Mile Square City. While locals have a plethora of supermarkets at which to shop, the city has shockingly lacked a dedicated seafood market since Tutta Pesca closed their doors amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Angelo Seafood Market is now hiring and those interested in applying for employment can reach out to [email protected]. The business does not yet have an official launch date yet but lists “early 2023” as the target to open their doors.
