Last Thursday, The Jersey City Summit for Real Estate Investment took over 70 Hudson Street for what has undoubtedly become the region’s premier real estate event. An expected turnout of 500 swelled to over 750 as excitement for the event ramped up in the final weeks.

Held on the 10th Floor of 70 Hudson Street, provided courtesy of Spear Street Capital, the location offered attendees constant 360-degree views of Jersey City and Manhattan, which perfectly complemented the day’s conversations.

The event kicked off with remarks by Deputy Mayor Marcos Vigil. Scheduled panels on retail, office, multi-family, TAMI, and emerging markets offered insights you could only hear in this type of setting – when industry insiders come together for a candid conversation.

Closing out the event was a surprise appearance from Mayor Steven Fulop. Also in attendance was the City Council President Rolando Lavarro as well as multiple council members.

With a stacked line-up of speakers, the panels were insightful and eye-opening. The transformation occurring in Jersey City is real. No longer are just a handful of major developers speculatively driving the market. The city has now developed into a dynamic market that’s gaining attention from all types of players.

During the retail panel, hints were dropped that a number of large and small retailers are looking seriously at Jersey City, as well as, many restaurant operators, including national quick service chains as well as local NYC-based full-service restaurants.

Green Villain was on site to present their Bergen Arches project, which received great feedback from the community, giving them the momentum to push the project to the next level.

As a co-sponsor of the event, we at Jersey Digs like to think we played a role in the success of the event. The same factor that made this year’s summit so popular is also the one driving our success – a huge and continually growing interest in Jersey City. We’re honored to be a part of that.

Over the next few weeks, Jersey Digs will be running a series of articles inspired by the numerous conversations at the Summit.
