The developer behind a new 6-story, 138-unit building in Bayonne announced they will soon begin construction on the project which will span the block from 19th Street to 21st Street along Broadway.
Branded as “19 East”, the luxury community will offer a suite of amenities such as a fitness center, two separate roof decks, a juice bar, yoga room, office center, and a resident lounge on every floor. It will also provide parking for 212 cars on the lower levels.
A landscaped public corridor is included in the project. Since the building in set back from Broadway, a long walkway will connect the building to a park along Broadway.
The project, which is being developed by Ingerman, was approved earlier this year. Geoffrey Long, Director of Development for Ingerman, estimates construction will take around 16 months, which puts its slated opening in early 2018.
Ingerman believes in Bayonne’s potential. “It’s a great, great city and we think that it’s going to be a fantastic opportunity,” Long said. “We think that there’s going to be some serious long-term growth in Bayonne that we want to be a part of.”
A 30-year tax break was approved for the project in December 2015.
