Business Overview
CIB IT is responsible for IT development, business/technical analysis, project, maintenance and support for the large range of applications within the Americas region, covering all CIB business areas such as Global Markets, Global Banking, Transversal IT, Securities Services and ALMT.
Equity Settlements, part of CIB IT is a suite of operational applications built in-house providing informational and transformational services for Global markets Prime Brokerage, Electronic Execution and Arbitrage businesses. With 40+ component systems, services provided cover applications across 4 different functional areas – Trade Settlements and Fails, Cash and Margining, Asset Servicing, and Regulatory services.
We work closely with our business partners and users as part of the global team to understand new requirements from clients, exchanges, industry, regulators and other stakeholders, and code against those requirements to enhance our platforms. The team also dedicates a large amount of time and effort to contribute to the overall platform engineering strategy to enhance our resiliency, stability and scalability across businesses and applications.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java/JEE micro services and front-end applications for global markets and prime services applications.
- Work on mission critical markets platforms while shaping the next generation of AI augmented fintech solutions
- Work in an agile and fast-paced environment interfacing with management, business and senior technology members
- Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code, deploy CI/CD pipelines
- Manage end-to-end development cycle from requirements analysis, coding, testing and maintenance
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
- Provide status updates, proper escalations & reporting to management & business
- Manage Source Code repository and support production releases
- Identify and assist in resolution of risks and issues that will adversely affect planned project milestones
- Understand technical and Business processes of various front office, trading and settlement applications
- Mentor junior engineers on both classic Java best practices and modern AI-tool adoption
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign education equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering with more than 7 years of experience performing Java/JEE software engineering within a financial services environment.

- CI/CD & DevOps – Maven/Gradle, Git (GitHub/GitLab), Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Terraform
- AI/ML Integration – LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google), prompt engineering, agentic AI, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus), Java ML libraries
- Scripting & Automation – Python or Perl, Unix/Linux shell scripting
- Observability – Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, centralized logging (ELK/EFK)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science with 5 years of hands on design & development experience
- Deep knowledge of the prime services domain (trade processing and settlements, securities lending, financing, collateral management).
- Proven experience delivering AI driven features (e.g., chat bots, document summarization, predictive analytics) in production.
FINRA Registrations Required
CFTC Swap Dealer Associated Person (if yes, NFA Swaps Proficiency Program is required)
SEC Security-Based Swap Dealer Associated Person
Compensation & Benefits
The expected starting salary range for this position is between $140,000 to $210,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
