Local leaders and community members gathered for a ribbon-cutting in West Milford to welcome the new business, Beyond Bleaf. The cannabis dispensary, owned by three Black women, is located at 753 Macopin Road. The founders are Luciana Cotten, Latasha Lovick, and Tarsha Adeyemi.
“We are truly overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from the community,” noted Luciana Cotten, co-founder. “To see so many people — especially local leadership — celebrating with us makes us proud to call West Milford our home.”

West Milford Mayor Michele Dale, several Township Council members, including Council President David Marsden, Councilmen Michael Chazukow, Kevin Goodsir, and Matthew P. Conlon, as well as other local leaders and dignitaries, were all in attendance. Hot 97’s DJ Drewski and DJ K-Rock brought the music while Whoopi Goldberg’s granddaughter Amara Skye and cannabis influencer Black Rose brought the star power. There were also food vendors and special giveaways.
“This is the beginning of something beautiful,” added Latasha Lovick. “We are open for business and ready to serve our community with high-quality products, education, and empowerment.”
The founders all come from professional backgrounds and share the vision that equity, excellence, and authenticity belong in cannabis. Through Beyond Bleaf, they hope to empower and inspire women and the community. They are hosting a special July 4th Cookout & Customer Appreciation Day to celebrate both Independence Day and their first month in business. The party will feature “sales, food, music, and good vibes.” The community is welcome.
“This grand opening is proof that when women — especially Black women — put their minds to something, there’s no stopping us,” shared Tarsha Adeyemi. “We are officially open and ready to serve with purpose and passion.”
