Overview

Rutgers University–Newark, an urban public research anchor institution located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Sr. Program Coordinator. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Development, this position independently manages development, alumni engagement, and alumni communications programs for Rutgers Law School. Responsibilities include planning events for alumni reunions and major programs, overseeing and co-managing alumni marketing and communication strategies, co-implementing and co-maintaining the RLaw Connect (Hivebrite) platform, and administering alumni and donor data systems, including Salesforce, Tableau, and Cvent.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:

  • Research, retrieve, and analyze data on donor giving and engagement using the RU Foundation’s software: Salesforce (AQ) and Tableau.
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Director, Alumni Engagement, prepare marketing materials; manage vendor hiring; provide customer service; manage the Foundation response vehicle interface; handle registration; manage logistics; and handle post-event communications for at least six annual class reunions and other alumni receptions.
  • Assist the Associate Dean in various administrative duties, including supervising mailings, transmitting gift checks, processing procurement, and ordering supplies.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge, skill, and understanding of volunteer management, alumni/public relations, and event execution.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in promotions/event planning, fundraising, sales, marketing, or work in a law office is required. Good communication, persuasion, and diplomatic skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with university or nonprofit development environments.
  • Experience with data reporting, donor communications, and CRM integration.
  • Experience and aptitude in computer graphics.
  • Knowledge of the legal profession is a plus.

Equipment Utilized: Salesforce, Tableau, Hivebrite, Microsoft Office Suite, Cvent, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and University Marketplace procurement systems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Standard office environment; ability to lift event materials up to 25 lbs. occasionally for on-site event setup.

  • Terms of Appointment: Staff – 12 month
  • Work Arrangement: Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.

Compensation

Minimum Salary: $68,278.48
Mid Range Salary: $84,393.98
Maximum Salary: $100,509.48

The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. We also take into consideration market benchmarks, if and when appropriate, and internal equity to ensure fair compensation relative to the university’s broader compensation structure.
