3 Journal Square is another Journal Square project that is currently under construction. Developed by Hartz Mountain and Panepinto Properties, the new 13-story building will sit atop an existing 4 story parking structure. The new building was designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architect and will house 240 residential units and feature an “eco-friendly green roof.”
The project applied for a 30-year tax abatement in November 2014. Prior to that, it also received $19 million in state tax credits.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2017.
Original reports stated, “Monthly rents at 3 Journal Square would range from $1,588 for a studio to $2,468 for a three-bedroom unit.”
