Zoning Official

Overview

The Borough is currently seeking a professional to serve as Zoning Official. The successful candidate is responsible for the administration and enforcement of zoning ordinances, review of permit applications, ensuring Land Use Board resolution compliance, and enforcement inspections. This is a part-time position, up to 20 hours per week, including attending hybrid Land Use Board meetings, which run on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month. A minimum of five years’ experience as a Zoning Officer, a valid New Jersey Zoning Official Certificate and a valid NJ Driver’s License. Strong knowledge of NJ Municipal Land Use Law is required as this position serves as a resource for residents, contractors, architects, and applicants navigating Borough zoning regulations. Applicants must be a reliable self-starter proficient with Microsoft Office applications; have excellent public relations skills; and be adaptive, organized and detail-oriented. Salary is $25,000–$35,000 (depending on experience).
