General Supervisor – Trees

Overview
A dynamic urban center with a population of 56,000+ seeks a full-time General Supervisor of Trees for its Parks and Shade Tree Department. This is a full-time position posted June 9, 2026, closing July 8, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Management of employees engaged in planting and management of City trees, including spacing, thinning, propping, irrigating, fertilizing, and/or sending soil samples to a laboratory for analysis
- Trimming, pruning, and removal of trees
- Limb and branch trimming and removal using aerial lift bucket trucks and related equipment
- Management of insects, blight, and tree diseases
- Logging of tree data for New Jersey reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience involving the care, maintenance, and planting of trees
- Arborist training/certification is desired
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license required
- New Jersey residency required
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $40,000 – $93,000 (based on experience)
- Employment Type: Full-Time
