A Jersey Shore destination known more for partying than luxury hotels looks like they will be getting a new high-end spot that would replace three motels just a few blocks from the ocean.

During a recent meeting, the Seaside Heights Borough Council voted 6-0 to designate Boston-based 6M Development as a redeveloper for several parcels along Lincoln Avenue and Ocean Terrace. The lots are currently home to the Dry Dock, Glendale, and Surfside motels and had been designated by the borough’s Planning Board as a redevelopment area late last year.

6M Development envisions a complex called Hotel Cinazza on the land, which would include 180 rooms plus a banquet center. A description of the hotel on the company’s website touts the “contemporary beachfront oasis” as combining “modern elegance and coastal charm.”

A rooftop pool and beachfront dining are just some of the amenities promised, and some preliminary images have been uncovered by Lavallette-Seaside Shorebeat of what the facility could look like. The company notes that Seaside Heights currently has no true hotel option and claims that a wedding venue planned for the property would help extend the borough’s tourist season.

The borough’s planning board will still need to approve a formal site plan from 6M before any construction of the hotel can begin at the site. The company has not announced when that application could move forward, which would be the last governmental step required before breaking ground.

The proposed Hotel Cinazza is the latest high-end plan to emerge in a borough that was once infamous for hijinks of the infamous MTV reality show series Jersey Shore. The former Karma nightclub was demolished earlier this year and will be replaced with modern condominiums.

A proposal to redevelop the now-demolished Bamboo Bar into residential housing has also been put forth in recent years. Officials in Seaside Heights have made an effort to become more family friendly, cracking down on rowdier club and parties in the Ocean County spot.
