Buyers priced out of the sky-high downtown Jersey City market now have a chance to stake a claim in the city’s second hottest neighborhood. Gallery Lofts is in the final stretch of construction and getting ready for a full launch.

Located at 391 Palisade Avenue, Gallery Lofts is a 16-unit brand new, ground up condominium project featuring a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes and a ground floor commercial space. The project broke ground early last year and is now beginning the sales process.

Inside, residences feel like chic European flats with a light palette of high-end finishes and contemporary mix of materials. Wide-plank white oak hardwood floors run throughout and the long window line coupled with gallery-like lighting create wonderful light and air. Select homes offer private terraces, many with New York City views, and on-site parking.

Designer kitchens are open to the main living space and as generously sized as the residences. Sleek beige Italian cabinetry by Mittel Cucine, uninterrupted by hardware, lends a seamless look while grey Sapien Stone porcelain countertops offer a sturdy contrast. Professional-grade Bertazzoni stainless steel appliances make easy work of meal prep and entertaining while under cabinet lighting and a neutral stone backsplash warm the slick space.

The elegant combination of clean cabinetry, thick grey porcelain, and layered lighting is also at play in the luxury baths. Plenty of storage plus dual sinks and mirrors marry form and function for a spacious spa-like experience. And floors and walls are clad in a neutral Italian tile for a sophisticated finish.

Gallery Lofts is marketed by Jim McCarten of Keller Williams, who is the exclusive sales agent.

Beyond stunning design, another one of the biggest draws is the project’s 5-year tax abatement. “The vast majority of interest has been from downtown Jersey City residents,” says McCarten. “After the revaluation hit downtown homeowners hard, buyers are looking to save on property taxes and a 5-year abatement makes this project very attractive.”

A new website will be launching soon but for now, sign up at for updates. Interested buyers can call Jim McCarten at 201-638-0012 for more details.

  1. That track lighting has got to go. Looks like a Home D special. Nice floors and kitchen. Hopefully the cabinet doors aren’t made of low grade particle board. Long window line ? I don’t see it.
