Cliffside Park Is Quickly Becoming New Jersey’s Next Gold Coast Destination

Cliffside Park, the borough “On Top of The Palisades,” is just north of North Bergen and west of Edgewater, rising high over the Lincoln Tunnel and in the shadow of the George Washington Bridge. It offers stunning and sweeping views of New York City and is quickly becoming a New Jersey Hudson River Gold Coast destination as developers discover what many locals have known all along.

“Cliffside Park is one of these hidden treasures along the New Jersey Gold Coast that feels suburban in nature, yet is just minutes from Manhattan and the vibrant dining, shopping, and nightlife destinations along the Hudson River,” said Eugene Cordano, Executive Director of Sales in New Jersey for Halstead, one of the top residential real estate brokerages in the region.

towne center cliffside parkIt is less expensive than other Gold Coast communities, while sill offering the convenience of transportation to Manhattan including shuttle buses to Port Imperial/Weehawken for fast ferry service (8 minutes to Midtown, 18 minutes to Downtown Manhattan) and the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail for easy access to Hoboken and Jersey City. Bus service directly from Cliffside Park to Port Authority Bus Terminal is also available.

Besides an easy commute, there is a great diversity of residential product. Cliffside Park is a very established rental market as well as home to beautiful condo/co-op buildings; the cliffs are dotted with single-family capes and even estates while developers are elevating the landscape even further with new luxury rental and condo projects.

Cliffside Park Towne Center, a project planned by the Borough in partnership with developers James Demetrakis and Fred Daibes, is a new Central Business District complete with a 13-story tower, offering 277 luxury rental apartments, 50,000 square feet of retail and office space, and a one-acre piazza-style plaza.

Also set to open this summer is DMG Investments’ One Park, an all-glass luxe condo building with unparalleled access to and breathtaking views of New York City. The project’s ambitious design and Manhattan-level modern luxury will elevate Cliffside Park’s status even further. The architecturally-distinctive 14-story building will feature 204 modern residences and more than 25,000 square feet of carefully-curated indoor and outdoor amenities. One-, two-, three- and four-bedroom residences are anticipated to start from $500,000, with private outdoor space for every home taking full advantage of the building’s dramatic clifftop location.

Halstead is heading up sales on the project and Mr. Cordano elaborated, “New developments like One Park, which we’re bringing to market this summer, add a modern, amenity-rich, residential option to the mix which will build on Cliffside Park’s appeal as a Gold Coast destination.”

Along with the new comes the revitalization of the existing and Anderson Avenue, the main street of Cliffside Park that runs along the west side of the borough, has benefited from a facelift. Residences top local shops and services and a real city-outside-the-city atmosphere permeates “The Avenue” with desirable retail and restaurants. And even more amenities are easily accessible in nearby Edgewater like Whole Foods, City Place for shopping and dining, and Edgewater Multiplex Cinemas.

Cliffside Park is quickly becoming the next best new borough for everyone from young professionals to empty-nesters. The quiet hamlet, always a haven for families just outside of New York City, is sure to soon be one of the Gold Coast’s most talked about town.
