A new culinary experience from the team behind Ghost Truck Kitchen is under construction near Liberty State Park as a modern American dining experience called Bergen Hall has begun to ramp up work.

The new eatery comes courtesy of the team behind Ghost Truck Kitchen (or gtk), which was launched in 2019 by longtime Jersey City resident Andrew Martino. The restaurant specializes in takeout options with a diverse menu featuring globally inspired bowls, wings, and a plethora of other culinary options to satisfy any palate.

After closing its original Jersey City location last year, Ghost Truck Kitchen is coming back to 295 Johnston Avenue this spring. The space will have a much bigger footprint than their existing Hoboken location and will allow them to expand their offerings significantly.

“We’re thrilled to bring gtk back to Jersey City with a convenient place, in an amazing neighborhood, for people to grab the variety and quality of our takeout and delivery options” said Andrew Martino, founder of gtk and Martino Hospitality.

We reported on the brand’s expansion to Bergen-Lafayette two years ago and more details have now emerged regarding the bigger project. The new portion of the restaurant will be called Bergen Hall and the venture is bringing aboard an established name in the Jersey City hospitality industry.

Joining the gtk team for Bergen Hall is Brant Schweinsberg, who previously worked as the Beer Manager at The Iron Monkey. He later joined New Jersey Beer Company and helped expand their tasting room before later teaming up with Departed Soles Brewery.

Bergen Hall is described as “a casual, modern American dining experience” and while they haven’t released any menu, the restaurant does have a website that includes a few libations along with placemat and coaster concepts.
